Vintage Looks

Vintage
design by: Angelica Hennata
Request by: Cindy Tanuwijaya
Yesterday I got new request from 20th pretty girl, Cindy Tanuwijaya. She asked me to design something touch sweet, with a nude pink and vintage looks. Honestly, I’ve bit of trouble in something sweet and vintage. I really love vintage looks, but.. I just confused. because I think vintage looks, sometimes can be modern looks too.. like, pencil skirt, pleated, directoire, cut to fit, A-line, etc. So, I really sorry if this design not good, or bad at all.. NB: Really sorry. that's wrong write on the picts. It should be 'vintage' not 'vitage'. really sorry.

Color : Copic sketch and LYRA pencil color
sketching and coloring by hand.

Navy looks started from 2 centuries ago when Albert Edwards, The prince of wales wear clothes with stripes pattern and sailor collar in oil painting by Franz Xaver Winterhalter. This inspiration was born from 1800 and still exist until now. about the shape, its insiprate from new look by Dior. on 1947 Christian Dior create new look which put the waist into center of fashion.

Polka dot first seen on American Magaxzine around the 1800's. that's a name of a popular dance of Eastern Europe at the time. Polka dot quickly spread in the op culture revolution. a century later, the polka has been invaded and ‘infect’ everyone, ranging from Minnie Mouse to Frank Sinatra who in 1940 raised Polka Dots and Moonbeams. Polka Dot back into the trend in the 1950s. When Brian Hyland in 1960 launched his hits “Teeny Weeny Itsy Bitsy Yellow Polka Dot Bikini”, this motif re-surfaced. Why Mini dress? because at the end 1960's this mode appears to give women another option in showing off their legs a bit part.

thank you for this request, it's make me learn about fashion history :) check her gorgeous blog:  here
